Castro Valley Auto Repair

I had a flat tire on a truck I was borrowing and had no way to get the spare on. I pulled into their drive way and they promptly ran out and switched it for me at no charge. I think I will have to check these guys out when I need some work done on my car.

I have been taking my 2005 Prius to the Toyota dealer in Berkeley since purchasing it because I didn't know of any reliable mechanic shops that serviced Priuses. I was in an auto body shop in CV that was working on a Prius and they referred me to Bud Adams. I called and asked their price for the needed service. The receptionist was clearly looking up what the service was for the car's mileage. Their price was slightly lower than Toyota's. I gave them a try. They actually had time that day, completed the service in a few hours time. I was sorry to read about the negative experiences and from my own experience found them hard to believe. Would have been good to read some feedback on those reviews from Bud's. I will definitely go back for the next service. They were nice, reliable, and price was slightly better than the dealer.

Reliable and honest. Expect to pay retail and also expect to hear about everything wrong with your car that they can find (which is what you want a good mechanic to do). But no shenanigans. They just fix it fast and do a good job.

I had the best experience I could have imagined when I finally had to take one of my vehicles to a repair shop. I've been a mechanic in the military for 16 years and only lack some specialty equipment in order to have my own repair shop at home. I simply could not figure out what was wrong with my Blazer and I just had surgery so climbing around to do my normal troubleshooting was out of the question. I finally relented and took my vehicle to the closest shop to my house; they were recommended to me by the muffler shop I had used recently. The entire staff were both courteous and helpful. Their lead mechanic listened to me and really seemed to give a damn. They kept my vehicle for the next two days; the afternoon of the second day I got a phone call and my truck was fixed. The mechanic said that since he had not checked with me before installing the needed part that he would be happy to remove it and allow me to save some money by doing the work myself. Since the part wasn't outrageously overpriced and the labor was next to nothing coupled with the terrific experience I was having I let them leave the part where it was and picked up my Blazer a couple hours later. It was and is running great. If I ever need another diagnosis while I'm living in the bay area I know where I'll be going.

This is my repair shop. Bud is there on occasion when he wants to get his hands dirty. His son Bill now owns the small fleet of repair shops. I have been coming here for years (before Bud's retirement). I called it my "little old lady" shop because I had always been worried that I would be conned. When I first went there, Bud showed me up front, what normal costs should be to do a specific repair. I compared the price to other places... and this place was my winner. Right now I have pretty brand new cars... but I'll be going to Bud's for the repairs when the time comes (cross my fingers that they don't)...

A great honest shop! The folks at the shop honor their work. I had a major engine problem and had to take the car back several times because something wasn't right..I never had to pay for those things since they were under the warranty of their work. Becky or Melissa drive me to where I need to be. I am so appreciative of this little service.

Very friendly bunch here! They know what they are doing and do it well. They are very good at troubleshooting your car and very reasonable on repairs. They definately don't seem to try and gouge the customer. Highly reccomend!

Good mechanics and good customer service. They do what they say they will do. If they find something else, they will call you and explain it to you before they rpoceed. I recommend this shop.
